Celebration

Bringing individuals and communities together through creativity.

Celebrations punctuate the work of the organisation, giving communities reasons to come together. Our celebratory events are creative and aspirational.  They celebrate individual skills and expertise, and often the powerful and transformative effect of community activism.

Panto Workshops

Each year Bentham Theatre Group put on our annual Panto after the half term in February. Its a huge community effort and the script is written by local writers. The Looking Well space is used for fabricating sets and costumes.

Carnival Bentham by Bike

In 2014 Pioneer Projects made a successful bid to make Bentham part of the the Yorkshire Festival of Arts and Culture. 100 days of events leading up to this years Tour de France which started in Yorkshire.

Lantern Procession

We have a community Lantern procession that lights up the way to the community bonfire. ( Unfortunatly we had to cancel this years due to circumstances beyond our control ) We run lantern making workshops for all the family and also go into the local primary school to engage the children. We usually have a live street band to provide music and excitement.

We time the workshops to co-incide with half term so all the family can come in for the day to the Looking Well to make the lanterns
